My background is in graphic design, and much of my professional experience was learned in good ol' New York City. I spent the first few years of my career exploring the various corners and avenues of the design world—ranging from in-house creation of marketing collateral to print and branding to environmental design.

Then I found what I actually wanted to do in 2010: digital product design solving complex problems with elegant solutions.

Now I lead teams of designers, developers, leadership, stakeholders and key decision makers through this process over and over again. I provide design direction, mentor designers, define team design processes, project manage, oversee client engagement, present to senior members of leadership and teach best practices in digital product design.

I believe a team leader is only as strong as their designers, and their designers are only as strong as the support system in place for growth. I believe designers should be empowered to voice their opinions and be given the room to explore, so they can affect change from the ground up. I believe we should work with people who give a shit. I believe stakeholders should be empathized with and heard, because their expert knowledge can only make our design solutions better. And I believe developers should be involved, inspired and given the room to evolve a design system, not be instructed and micromanaged.
